SCRATCH or SWIRL REMOVAL
Using a black foam pad and polish after buffing is the only way to remove swirl marks permanently and wax will not remove them. Just fill them in temporarily.
The heat generated during buffing can be detramental, but also beneficial.
A certain amount of friction will help the sanding scratches melt and buff out easier. Just keep adding compound as needed. Not enough is a bad thing.
But getting too hot will leave you with a burn. Buffing is the only way to remove surface scratches and bring your paint to a high polish shine.
Buffing your paint should only be performed by an experienced person who knows the right products to use.
This is where ROB'S CAR WERX comes in handy. Unfortunately there are many shops out there who give buffing a bad reputaion by simply misusing equipment and products.
Examples of this are customers who are left with scratches, swirl marks, burnt paint, etc.
By coming to ROB'S CAR WERX your vehicle will be touched only by an experienced technician. Swirl marks are not something we tolerate around here.
If your vehicle has been damaged by another shop, let me have a look and i'm sure we can solve the problem.
Are all these steps necessary, or is it just fluff?
Buffing is a process that can bring "gloss and shine" to "a dull or scratched" automotive finish.
A high speed buffing tool is used along with different liquid polishes, waxes, compounds, and glazes.
Most scratches, swirl marks, scuffs, oxidation, and imperfections in your cars paint can be reduced or even eliminated through high speed buffing.
I always use the right products to produce a showroom quality product every time.
